Dinosaur National Monument was originally created to protect the extensive fossil beds in the west end of the Monument. The boundaries were
later expanded to protect the incredible canyons of the Green and Yampa Rivers upstream from the Dinosaur Quarry. Today, river enthusiasts explore the side canyons and
intrepetive opportunities that have been preserved for future generations.
